What the PMS trade-fair support can cover
The Ministry's Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) scheme helps eligible micro and small enterprises participate in selected domestic and international trade fairs. Event selection, application windows, cost caps and supporting documents matter.
Women-owned MSEs can receive higher space-rent assistance
The revised guidelines list support of up to 100% of eligible space rent for women-owned units, subject to the stated cap or actual rent paid, whichever is lower, and a booth-size limit. The current event notice and portal control what can be claimed.
Some air-fare support is available to participating units
The guidelines list reimbursement for one representative's economy-class airfare, capped at the stated amount or the actual fare, whichever is lower. Confirm the event's current rules, travel evidence and approval before booking.
Reimbursement is not a guaranteed free stall
Eligibility, event approval, selection, budget and claim review apply. An event's application page may require the enterprise to pay costs after allocation and later submit proof; support is not an advance payment unless the notice says so.
| Cost or evidence | Estimate | Portal or organiser confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible stall or space rent | Cap, booth size and selection | |
| Travel for one representative | Fare class and reimbursement ceiling | |
| Samples, packaging and freight | Usually budget separately | |
| Event dates and application deadline | Current PMS event notice |
Check the enterprise and event eligibility
PMS support is tied to an eligible MSE and an approved event. A fair that looks commercially useful may not be listed or approved under the current component.
Confirm the enterprise has current Udyam details
The portal's event notices can specify the Udyam validity date and other documentary conditions. Check the current MSE category, business activity and linked profile before the deadline.
Compare the fair with the product and target buyer
Review the event's product categories, footfall or buyer type, location, stall size, organiser terms and delivery needs. The scheme does not make a poor-fit fair profitable.
Check repeat-participation and representative rules
The guidelines limit some international-fair benefits by enterprise and financial year, and one representative cannot claim as a delegate for multiple MSEs. Verify the rule that applies to the event before applying.
Apply through the official PMS portal
The portal lists current and upcoming events, instructions for MSE applicants and separate services for organisers. Use the MSE application route and follow the event-specific schedule.
Select an open event and read every condition
Check the event page for the application window, eligibility cut-off, required attachments, stall-fee process, selection date, booth limits and claim instructions. A portal notice may change a deadline or extend the scheme temporarily.
Submit the application before making non-refundable bookings
Use the official portal and save the application number. Do not assume that applying means a stall is allotted; wait for the written selection and travel guidance before incurring large costs.
Keep proof for the eventual claim
Save the approval, allotment, invoices, payment proof, boarding passes, attendance or participation record and any post-event form. Ask the portal help contact which expense evidence is required for the selected component.
Make the fair commercially useful and safe
A subsidy can reduce eligible participation costs, but the seller pays for other preparation and carries the business risk of producing and transporting stock.
Plan stock and cash flow around the event
Estimate production, samples, freight, staff time, travel, local transport, lodging, packaging and payment delay. Keep a reserve for costs the scheme does not reimburse.
Track buyers and follow-up commitments
Use a simple lead sheet for buyer name, product interest, quantity, quoted price, delivery area, next contact and consent to follow up. Separate a conversation or letter of interest from a confirmed purchase order.
Protect the owner's accounts and documents
Keep original identity and bank documents with the woman owner, use her business contact details and avoid sharing OTPs or passwords with a fair organiser or reimbursement agent.
Common questions about PMS support for women
Is the entire cost of a fair reimbursed?
No. The scheme covers specified items within caps and event rules. Samples, packaging, freight, meals, accommodation and other costs may be outside the eligible claim or limited by separate conditions.
Does the 100% space-rent support mean unlimited stall size?
No. The revised guidelines set a cap on the amount and booth size. Verify the current event and scheme notice before booking a larger space.
Where can I see which events are open?
Use the official PMS portal's current and upcoming event listings. Deadlines and eligibility cut-offs are event-specific and can change.
Will participating guarantee sales?
No. Fair participation provides an opportunity to meet buyers; it does not guarantee orders, payment or profit. Compare the expected buyer fit with the full cost of attendance.
